Tours

A day for people to have either guided tours or self guided tours of Buchanan Clan lands which are less known but historically related to The Buchanan and our ancestors.

Viewing Clarinish

For those with Sea legs, we have organised a ferry ride to the island of Inch Cailleach, for excellent views of Clair Innes (the original Clan Seat). After the 5 minute ferry, it’s just a 15-20 minute walk from the pier to the top of the island we have great views of Clair Innes.

Small 24 seat boats will launch from Balmaha. The return journey costs £7.50 a person (pay at departure, no booking required).

Lunch at Buchanan Castle Golf Course

A great opportunity to have lunch or afternoon tea at the Buchanan Castle Golf Course club house and to see the ruins of the Auld House, the former home of the Buchanan Chiefs.

2-course set menu meal

Time: 12 noon – 1 pm

There may be information provided during the weekend for those who wish to visit Balmaha,
which has the closest vantage point to Clar Innis – the Buchanan Clan’s Historic Island (and original Clan Seat).

The chief and family do hope you will join him for a traditional Scottish ceremony, dating back hundreds of years and that will be remembered for a hundred more.
